Visit to the Genesis Biotech Biogas Plant during the "Green Week"
Genesis Biopartner aims to contribute to the education of the young generation and decided to get involved in the "Green Week" project by organizing a visit to the Genesis Biotech biogas plant. The 7th graders of School No. 195 in Bucharest "learned" how biodegradable waste is recycled, how Biogas and Green Energy are obtained and how the recycling process is completed by providing a new type of environmentally friendly fertilizer. At the same time, they were impressed by the technology and curious, asking Genesis Biopartner representatives a lot of questions, proving that there is a growing interest among young people in Romania in protecting the environment and preventing climate change.
Climate change and environmental degradation are problems we are facing at national and international level and are major challenges that will mark future generations. Education is one of the pillars of improving the response to climate change by changing human behavior to protect nature and resources.
Genesis Biopartner is the road to sustainability and its main objective is to change mindsets, which in time will change society. The children learned that about 60,000 tons of food waste is recycled annually at Genesis Biotech and that the biogas plant generates electricity for almost 6,000 households with the processed feedstock, replacing nuclear and coal.
When we heard that the Green Week program was launched, we wanted to get actively involved, as I believe that timely education of the young generation is very important. We enjoyed the visit of students from School No. 195 in Bucharest and I was pleasantly surprised by their intelligence and curiosity. We will participate in such actions in the future.
